Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 6, 2026 • Version 1.1
Important: Badgerlane is a financial automation software platform. We are not a bank, lender, broker-dealer, money transmitter, or registered investment adviser. We do not hold, custody, or execute transactions with your funds. This policy describes how we handle the data you share with us to provide our software services.
1. Introduction
Badger Lane Equity Corporation (“Badgerlane,” “Badgerlane Wealth,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Badgerlane platform (“Service”).
This policy applies to all users of the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, username, and password.
- Financial Information: Income, expenses, debt balances, savings amounts, and linked account data used to power cashflow automation and modeling.
- Communication Data: Messages you send through contact forms or support requests.
- Payment Information: Billing details processed by our secure third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.
2.2 Information Collected via Third-Party Data Providers
Where you choose to link financial accounts, we use Quiltt, Inc. and its underlying financial data network partners (“Data Providers”) to retrieve read-only account data on your behalf, including account balances and transaction history; account identifiers (e.g., institution name, last 4 digits of account number); and ongoing data refresh until you revoke access.
We do not store your online banking credentials. Authentication is handled directly by Data Providers. We do not have the ability to move, transfer, or execute transactions through this data access.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Device information (browser type, operating system);
- IP address and approximate location;
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent); and
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 8).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information solely to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Power cashflow automation rules and personalized financial modeling;
- Process subscription payments and manage billing;
- Send service-related communications (account notices, security alerts);
- Respond to support inquiries;
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access; and
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Note: We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling for marketing purposes, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the Service you have subscribed to.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL);
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest;
- Regular security assessments and updates;
- Access controls and multi-factor authentication requirements; and
- Internal data handling policies and employee training.
Important: We do not store full bank account numbers. When account identifiers are retained, we store only masked references (e.g., last 4 digits) for your reference. We do not have the technical ability to move, transfer, or execute transactions with your money, nor do we maintain money transmitter licenses or capabilities. All fund movements are initiated exclusively by your explicit instructions through the platform.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data for advertising or marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including payment processors, cloud hosting providers, and Data Providers (such as Quiltt). These parties are contractually bound to use your data only as necessary to provide services to us.
- Legal Requirements: Where required by law, valid court order, regulatory request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Badgerlane, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With Your Consent: Where you have explicitly authorized a specific sharing arrangement.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities;
- Data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format); and
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@badgerlane.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 30–45 days). We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may also retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements.
Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or regulation. Aggregated, de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Maintain your authenticated session;
- Remember your in-app preferences;
- Understand how users interact with our Service; and
- Improve Service performance and stability.
We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or behavioral tracking beyond our own platform. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality, including keeping you logged in.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age, consistent with our Terms of Service eligibility requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a person under 18, please contact us at support@badgerlane.com and we will promptly delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Badgerlane is a U.S.-based service. Your information is primarily stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate.
We ensure appropriate contractual and technical safeguards are in place for any international data transfers, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
11. California Residents — CCPA Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA): right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, purposes, and third parties with whom it is shared; right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions; right to correct inaccurate personal information; right to opt-out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out is required, but you may contact us to confirm); and right to non-discrimination.
To exercise California rights, contact us at support@badgerlane.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days, with a possible 45-day extension where reasonably necessary.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent in-app notification at least fourteen days before the change takes effect, and we will update the “Last Updated” date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
